Ted Jagucki made a motion to approve the minutes as presented.  Harold Walston gave a second to the motion and the minutes passed with a unanimous vote.

Jason reviewed his list of facilities that are in need of repairs with the board.  Some repair work is on-going, and some repairs will need to be handled in the new budget year.

No public comments were heard.  There were three members of the public in attendance: Mr. Ben Carter, Mr. Mike Lichenou, and Mr. Derek Bouchard.

Jason gave updates for the various parks and recreation programs that had taken place since the last advisory board meeting.

Jason presented the board with a proposed change to the draft policy that was being recommended by staff to address a couple of issues. 

Renee Dowdy made a motion to approve the policy as presented by staff, Bobby Gelormine gave a second to the motion and the motion was approved by a unanimous vote.

This agenda item was tabled until the April Meeting

Jason discussed with the board the current registration guidelines and dates, explaining how some programs were set by the E.A.C (Eastern Athletic Commission) and some were set by outside associations such as Tarheel League Inc.

Jason informed the board of the tournament dates for the upcoming baseball/softball season. 

Renee Dowdy requested a digital copy of the schedule be emailed to the advisory board.

Jason stated that the manufacturer had provided a date of Mid-February for the shipment of the playground equipment.

Jason stated that the plan was roughly 70% complete.

Jason explained that the design of the facility was almost 70% complete but the permit process would be a slow one.

Jason announced that the county had gone out for bids and that the bids were due on February 11, 2023.

Jason announced that the project had been completed.

Jason stated that the replacement metal roofing work was approximately 75% complete and would be finished in the near future.

Jason stated that the dog park was roughly 90% complete and all that remained was concrete pads and benches.

Jason expressed concern to the board about the lack of practice facilities in Moyock.  He explained that the county was working with the school system to construct new practice facilities at the new school site and that the county was exploring relocating the old Musco light system at Moyock Elementary School.

Jason informed the board that the county was looking at a piece of property in the South end of the county for a potential boating and water access point.  Jason explained that there were many variables that would come into play and that it was just a possibility and not something that would definitely happen.
