Weatherly reviewed the repair project scope including trimming the vegetation on some of the roads to a 15’ high by 15’ wide clear path and filling potholes on Sandpiper Road, as the work fits within the budget. The project will be ready for bid in February.
Aydlett shared that he and English had driven the roads that are part of the scope with Weatherly and Perry after the last meeting. English and Aydlett both support the plan.
Gilliam opened up a discussion about finding more fill for these projects, in particular the open space where the fire pond is located. Weatherly discussed that when this has been pursued in the past, there have been questions about whether or not it was possible to expand the fire pond. Aydlett discussed that there had been a possibility of obtaining fill from dredging the canal. Weatherly was uncertain of the status of obtaining this fill. It was decided to focus on the repair project, but the need for fill material is still a priority of the Board.
English began a discussion on the Maintenance plan and the potential for reducing the frequency of road grading on some of the roads. Weatherly reviewed the road maintenance and he had changed some of the roads to quarterly. Gilliam and Aydlett also discussed that some roads needed monthly and some didn’t. English questioned how the Board knows which roads are being maintained and how often. Kevin Riggs was in attendance and asked the Board if they would like Jon King to email them pictures when the roads had been graded like had been done in the past. The Board agreed that an email update would be helpful.
A motion was made by Aydlett to accept the Repair project as has been prepared by Weatherly. Gilliam seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.
