Chairman Antons spoke about the definition of this time in the meeting. Antons stated that the public is misusing the time and said that the comments stated here should be announcements ie. Volunteer Fund Raising Dates, etc. NOT new issues or requests for follow up meeting agenda items. A request needs to be submitted to Crissy Daneker to add an action item to the Agenda. This will help the Board obtain the necessary information so that the conversation doesn’t carry from one meeting into another just because of fact finding purposes.
Mary Beth Newns took the time to thank everyone who came to the Regional Response Team meeting held prior to this Board meeting. Mrs. Newns stated that she would need to be contacted if deployment is involved, but to otherwise feel free to contact them as needed.
Chief Shortway from Corolla Fire shared their Insurance Services Office inspection was completed and believes it went well. Lee Kennedy performed the inspection, which is a new inspector.

Chief Jay Laughmiller from Carova Beach is selling tickets to a 50/50 raffle to benefit Currituck Fire/EMS employee John Brock who is currently battling cancer.
