Tourism Advisory Board Discussion of Event Grants

The Board discussed the merits of each grant and each member completed a score sheet for each event.

Scoring

However, the scoring was not used to award grant funds as there was enough in the event grant budget to cover all of the event grant requests. The Board found merit with each event and awarded the full request amount to each event.

Recommendations to the Tourism Development Authority on the Awarding of Event Grants and Funding Levels

The following is the awarded amount for each event to be recommended to the TDA for approval:

1. The Corolla Village Christmas Market November 28 & 29, 2025 - $20,000
2. Winter Wonderland, December 2025) - $10,050
3. Plows, Pumpkins and Farmers Fall Festival, October 18, 2025 - $9,950
4. OBX Festival of Golf, November 6-12, 2025 & March 6-16, 2026 - $20,000
5. Corolla Sea Glass & Coastal Art Show, June 24 & 25, 2026 - $20,000
6. Corolla Ten Miler Race, September 21, 2025 - $20,000
7. Artsy August, August 7, 14, 21 & 28, 2025 (Corolla Beach VFR Auxiliary - $12,500
8. Pirate Run (tentative title), April 2026 (Corolla Beach VFR Auxiliary - $7,500
9. Mustang Mornings, July/ August, 2025 and May/June 2026 - $10,000
